A rajzok hangulata a Földényi F. László által leírt melankóliát idézi: a nehezen körvonalazható, a konkrét tudáson túlmutató, egyértelmű magyarázatokat elvető állapotot.
„Szűcs Attila rajzain az emberi alakok többnyire rendelkeznek ugyan egyedi megkülönböztető jegyekkel, ám ezek inkább csak fölsejlenek. A hangsúly ugyanis nem az individualitásukon van, hanem a világban, vagyis a rajzok eleve oldott terében elfoglalt helyükön. Nem az egyszeriségük döntő, ami a világtól való elhatárolódás eredménye, hanem a környező terekkel való rokonsága. E terek mintegy „átzuhognak” rajtuk, amitől lényük egyetemes, kozmikus jelleget kap. Ezek a figurák azt sugallják, hogy a létezés olyan szemszögből is nézhető, amelyből a világ homogenitása a meghatározó. Ekkor az ember nem kivételezett lény, hanem hasonló anyagból készült, mint a teljes univerzum. Mindenben a saját rokonára ismerhet: a kövekben éppúgy, mint a növényekben, az élettelen tárgyakban, az atmoszférában vagy a fényben” – mondta el Földényi F. László József Attila- és Széchenyi-díjas esztéta, műkritikus, irodalomtörténész, egyetemi tanár.

The mood of the drawings evokes the melancholy described by László F. Földényi: a state that is difficult to outline, goes beyond concrete knowledge, and rejects clear explanations.
"In the drawings of Attila Szűcs, the human figures mostly have unique distinguishing features, but these are more likely to emerge. The emphasis is not on their individuality, but on their place in the world, that is, in the already resolved space of the drawings. What is decisive is not their singularity, which is the result of distancing themselves from the world, but their affinity with the surrounding spaces. These spaces sort of "fall through" them, which gives their being a universal, cosmic character. These figures suggest that existence can also be viewed from a point of view from which the homogeneity of the world is decisive. Then human is not an exceptional being, but made of the same material as the entire universe. You can recognize your own relative in everything: in stones as well as in plants, inanimate objects, the atmosphere or the light," said F. László Földényi, an esthete, art critic, literary historian, and university professor who won the József Attila and Széchenyi Prizes.
